I have experience working in long term care settings and in Adult Day Health where I coordinated the Alzheimer’s/Dementia programs. I have a B.A. in Gerontology and I have been a volunteer with the Alzheimer’s Association facilitating support groups for family members. Evelyn Pasillas

Treasurer

Evelyn Pasillas earned her master’s in art therapy and mental health counseling from Antioch University Seattle in 2018. She has over 20 years of experience in non-profit work serving children, students, families, and adults. As a vocational specialist, Evelyn gained an in-depth understanding of the intersectionality of issues that impact the diverse populations we serve. Evelyn’s graduate research illuminated the effect of inequities in care that Pierce County residents navigate. She is excited to bring mental health strategies out of the clinical setting and into the real world where we can create new paths to recovery.

Evelyn’s work includes art therapy with LGBTQA youth and adults, facilitation of workshops with students, and work as a guest lecturer at the Evergreen State College Tacoma Program. The workshops she designed and implemented examined individual and community identity through artistic expression. In her private practice Red Dahlia Art Therapy, Evelyn offers skills in Self-compassion, trauma stewardship, mindfulness, creativity, motivational interviewing, and unconditional positive regard. Evelyn is an experienced career counselor, educator, community mental health clinician, and art therapist.
